Books, blue birds & a YA/NA giveaway

The little blue bird has been tweeting hot today as Aussie romance authors converge on Fremantle for the Romance Writers of Australia (RWA) annual conference.RWA WA

This time last year, I was at the Gold Coast for the 2012 event, dosed up on hot lemon and honey drinks but smiling like a Cheshire cat as Clan Destine Press offered me a three-book contract.

How time flies…

Twelve months later and I’m recovering from yet another broken bone, this time my right patella, and amidst preparations for the launch of my debut novel The Blood She Betrayed on September 4, I gaze at the #RWAus13 twitter feed and smile at the comments of old friends, as well as new ones.

Soul Ties CoverFellow author Lisdeadactuallya Swallow is attending this year’s conference with an extra special Young Adult/New Adult gift basket of books, chocolates and other goodies.

Anyone, even those off-the-street Freo’s, who attend the Book Signing event at the Esplanade Hotel, Marine Terrace in Fremantle tomorrow night can gain free entry into the draw.

Topping the gift basket’s list of fab reads is Kaz Delaney’s Dead, Actually, winner of both the 2012 Aurealis Awards Best Young Adult Novel and the 2012 ARRA Awards Favourite Paranormal Romance. Go, Kez!

The prize also includes Margaret River Company chocolates, paperback copies of Demonosity (Amanda Ashby), Dark Child (Adina West) and Harbinger (Peta Crake), promised eBook copies of Soul Ties (Lisa Swallow) and my The Blood She Betrayed as well as a Soul Ties mug and The Blood She Betrayed T-shirt.

The Book Signing, which runs from 5pm until 6.30pm tomorrow night, is being hosted by the Australian Romance Readers Association as part of the RWA conference.

Entry to the event is $7, with plenty of free books up for grabs, for those who step inside.

Have a fabulous 2013 RWA conference and Book Signing, everyone, and come home safely after it’s done.
