Blood She Betrayed reviews burn Bright

My author tour and catching up and staying with friends in areas of unreliable internet access has resulted in a long delay in posting recent blogs… BUT I just had to share with you my latest reviews. As many of you know, I am a huge fan of Marianne de Pierres’ Night Creatures trilogy. If you haven’t read Burnt Bright (book one in this evocative series), then click over to Amazon or sprint to your nearest bookstore/library for a copy!

So it filled me with delight this morning to read an awesome review of my book from the gorgeous Belinda, whom I met at SupaNova in Brisbane last month. Bel is a delightful lady and has read my book and written her review HERE. Thanks, Bel, for your lovely review.

As an extra bonus, Escape Club staffer Bec Stafford has interviewed me, “the newly minted author”, and you can read our Q&A HERE.

Finally, for a tasty bite of The Blood She Betrayed, do visit Damyanti’s Amlokiblogs for an extract of Chapter 2 of The Blood She Betrayed. Of course I want to meet a warrior princess, especially if it’s Shahkara!

How my Taloner demons evolved

Shakara hand pommelEver wondered how an author creates a demon race, half based on mythology and half on the nuances of their creepy mind? I’m blogging about the inspiration behind my dark Taloners (and my Shahkara half-Taloner Shahkara) at DarkSiders DownUnder today with the tormented title, Unleashing the Demon Within.

Here’s a sneak peak of the full version published at DarkSiders DownUnder: “A child’s fingers curled around the outside rim of a partially-open coffin… my courageous Heart Hunters heroine Shahkara evolved from this single, spooky image after it flashed through my mind more than five years ago. Those tiny, lifeless fingers didn’t belong to my Shahkara, but their discovery forced her to unearth and expose a horrifying cover-up…” Read more here.

Thanks to DSDU volunteer Colleen Simpson (aka Aussie author CM Simpson, Carlie Simonsen and a raft of other pen-names) for designing this blog. You can find out more about Colleen’s MANY novels here.

To an awesome day, UF fans! Remember, it’s not the demons you face but how you face them!

Shahkara sees action in Portugal

omundoencantadodoslivrosA cover reveal of my upcoming novel, The Blood She Betrayed, featuring my gutsy heroine Shahkara, has popped up on a review website in Portugal.

The O Mundo Encantado dos Livros (Enchanted Books) website is run by the delightful and discerning Ana Neves, who reviews books in both English or Portugese. Judging by her previous reviews, she likes a well-woven story and doesn’t hesitate to say if it’s not up to standard! I suppose that comes from sharing the same hometown as 1998 Nobel Prize José Saramago. Her website is gorgeous.

I was excited to share my upcoming cover with Portugese readers and am looking forward to Ana reviewing The Blood She Betrayed once it launches in July.

~~ Ana is also searching for independently published authors to be featured in her regular indie column. If you are indie-published, drop her a line via ana (d0t) luisa (dot) neves (at) live (dot) com (dot) pt
