When you can’t spend Christmas with your family because of dubious floodwaters, there’s nothing better than taking in the Dr Who Christmas Special on Boxing Day. I must admit that I was a bit dubious when A Christmas Carol looked like being a rehash of Dickens’ classic but the scriptwriters (Chris Chibnall, Mark Gatiss, Richard Curtis & Toby Whitehouse) did a great job. It was a beautiful, touching tale and I loved the Doctor’s off-camera liaison with Marilyn Monroe. Ah, poor innocent Timelord. His merry-go-round of scrapes never stops at megalomaniacs and end-of-world invasions.
Yeh, I just don’t know about the new season. Might be headed somewhere. Fingers crossed it’ll live up to my (HIGH) expectations.
