Cool Places I’ve Been:
GenreCon, Sydney, 2012: This inaugural event was a blast and worth flying interstate and staying at the Waldorf. Check out my blog here. Below: Fellow authors Dean J Anderson and Sandy Curtis join me for a tour of the State Library of New South Wales, during our visit to Sydney.
Diamonds are Forever, Surfers Paradise, 2012: The RWA annual conference – held at the Gold Coast in 2012. This is where Publisher Lindy Cameron (below) offered me a three-book contract for my Heart Hunters series.
Continuum 8 (NatCon), Melbourne, 2012: Continuum 8, Melbourne – Check out my blog here
WriteFest, Bundaberg, 2012: WriteFest, Bundaberg
WriteFest, Bundaberg, 2011: Why go anywhere when the best regional writers festival in Australia is in our home town of Bundy each year? This year, WriteFest delivered a smorgasbord of speakers and editors, including Beyond the Darkland’s Leah Giarratano, romance author Anne Gracie, Hachette’s Kate Ballard, weapons expert Ray Floro, games writer Leanne C. Taylor, QWC’s Aimee Lindorff and freelance editor Deonie Fiford.
Townie Meeting, Las Vegas, 2011: When at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, don’t do as the Romans do… The Townie Meeting was fascinating… but so was the shopping in LV and our day trip to Los Angeles. I loved visiting this slice of America, but was also happy to be home, brimming with new ideas for The Ghost She Killed and Dental Care for Vampires.
WorldCon, Melbourne, 2010: World Con in September was awesome. I met many fun and incredible people. A great time and I bought so many books that I’m still reading them!
Wow, you are going to Las Vegas that will be exciting. Hope you are going to spend a decent about of time in the US to make the trip worthwhile.
You mean you’re not coming to England on August 22nd? Booooo :'( (my 29th birthday haha)
I might have to revise my schedule. Any Cons in the UK during August 2012? And then my birthday’s seven days later on the 29th!
