My dear friend Stephanie sketched this gorgeous picture of Harry after reading my first manuscript, Shahkara. I grew up on a farm near Roma so Harry was inspired by many wonderful bushies and men of the west. Some of those include my Dad’s old friend, Tommy Sykes, Maranoa identity Peter Keegan and my own brother-in-law, Jason. Many who read my book say that Harry touched a special part in their heart.
This prize picture of my favourite Taloner, Shahkara, chatting with the one and only Schlock Mercenary. Schlock was sketched in eight seconds by everyone’s favourite spec fic comic artist, Howard Tayler. Hubby and I were lucky enough to meet and dine with Howard at a fan gathering during AussieCon at Melbourne in 2010.
There’s something about this Warrior Princess by 7Sins7 that captures the beauty and courage of my half-Taloner heroine. 7Sins7 is working on another image of this same princess in a different costume so I’m looking forward to seeing the results!
This is one of the most beautiful 3D pictures I’ve ever seen and reminds me of Carly hidden in her non-descript gown, awaiting her fate at the gathering of the Taloners. A big thanks to 7Sins7 for lending his two gorgeous images to my website.
I LOVE these pictures. They always bring the stories to life. I really want to read your book!
Thanks, Dark Angel, you’ve made my day! Looking at these images just stirs up stories and characters inside me – and all the artists on this page are incredibly talented. Of course, Howard Tayler would probably be horrified to think I’m showing his unedited five-second sketch to the world. I remember at the time when he drew it, he didn’t think it was very good but I was clasping it to my chest in delight (yay!). He drew an image for every fan who was at his table that night (smiles at lovely memories past) He’s a beaut person.
The picture of the old guy with the beard is really sick 🙂
That portrait of Harry that Stephanie sketched is great! Steph is so talented. If she wasn’t a doctor she would be a leading light in the art world. She did a fantastic job of portraying the character.
Go 7sin7 whoever he is, and while clothing is something for discussion, I somehow doubt that Shahkara would bother with makeup either :). Graphic art is really picking up. Damn I love the art techniques used to make Harry. And Cher you didn’t have to do this for me, gee. It was a colourful suggestion; you didn’t have to take it on. That said, I do like your art page.
Hi Jay, I’m glad the art gallery fuels your imagination and, yes, 7sins7 is awesome. Also, thank you for your web advice. I’m still a novice at this and your suggestions have been beneficial. I hope you keep coming back 🙂
Them was the days, hey mate
Keegan
Yes, Keeg, they were – and the stories of those days are still inside your head and on paper – thankfully 🙂

Thanks, Cat. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you! HUGS x
